On a separate piece of paper, please describe
each area listed on the next two pages.
In each of the areas, we mention things that you should describe, list,
and go over.
·
Here is a good example on what we are
looking for: (The more description and
details the better).
Body/Paint: The
paint on this coupe is “Lynndale Blue”, the correct “977” code for this
car. This color was only offered in
1967, and there were only 1,381 built with this color (third fewest.) The paint looks like it was repainted
awhile back, it’s hard to tell.
There are a few stress cracks, chips, buff makes, and a few very
small bubbles in the paint, typical for a Corvette. (Most of them have been touched up.) The paint still has a very nice
shine. I think the two front fenders
were replaced. (no
seams) There is a “big block” hood
on the car. Even though the car was
built around the time that Chevrolet ran out of standard hoods during
production and continued building 327 cars with the big block hoods. (Documented by NCRS), I think someone at
one time swapped out the hood. (Probably at the same time as the fenders. I could be wrong.) Both doors are aligned and close with
ease, no sagging doors on this C2.
Body/Paint: Does the body have any rust showing or
starting to come through? Did the car
have any rust and/or bondo/repairs? If
so, please describe where and to what extent.
Do the body panels fit together with even gap lines? Please describe any flaws in the body and
paint. Original paint? If it was repainted, when? Was the trim removed when it was
repainted? What type of paint is
it? List all the scratches, dents, rust, touch up spots, and any other problems. Glossy paint? If the vehicle is a convertible, please
describe the condition of the top, rear window, boot, and hardware. Is the exterior fully detailed?
Chrome/Trim: Is all the chrome and trim original? What parts have been re-chromed? Is there any pitting, scratches, or oxidation
on any of the parts? Does
the stainless steel trim parts have any dings or marks on them? Was the trim ever buffed out? Talk about both the exterior and interior
chrome/trim. Please describe any flaws
with the chrome/trim.
Engine
Compartment: Is it
fully detailed? What size motor? If stock, does it have the correct
carburetor, air cleaner, horns, clamps, etc.?
What is new under the hood? (Hoses, plus, belts, wires, radiator, etc.). Does it have the correct hardware?
Frame
& Undercarriage:
How does the frame and undercarriage look? Is it detailed and clean? Are there any rust problems, and if so
where? Are these original floor pans, or
are there some replacement areas? List
if so. Did the frame have repairs
because of rust? Is the frame painted or
semi-gloss? Is there any
undercoating? What is new on the under
side? (Shocks, fuel line, brake lines,
etc.).
Wheels
and Tires: What
brand, type and size are the tires? In
what condition are they? Are these the
correct tires for this vehicle? What kind of wheels (rim) are on the car? Are these the correct size and style for the
car? What is the condition of the four
wheels? Talk about the spare tire.
Interior: Describe the over all condition. Are there any rips, cracks, etc.? What about the knobs and instruments/gauges? Do they all work? If not, what doesn’t? What is original and what was replaced? (Seat covers, dash, pads
etc.). Is the interior fully
detailed? What options are inside?
(AM/FM radio working, clock not working, floor mats, power windows,
etc.).
Trunk
Compartment: Describe the condition of the trunk. Are all the trunk pans original? Are there any signs of rust or rust
repairs? What about the mat, spare tire,
jack and jacking tools?
Glass: Are there any cracks or chips in any of the
glass? Does the windshield have any
wiper marks or stone nicks? Is the glass
original with proper date coding? Does
it have factory-tinted glass? Does all
the side glass go up and down without any problems?
RESTORATION INFORMATION:
Has this vehicle been restored? If no, skip to the next section.
Was it a “Body off Frame” or “Body on Frame”
restoration? Who did the restoration and
when? The mileage
since the restore? Describe in
detail the restoration, what items, what was done, and what type of parts where
used. (Reproduction or NOS) Do you have all the receipts and invoices?
MECHANICAL INFORMATION:
Engine/Transmission/Rear
End: If the
engine, transmission, and rear end are original, please provide the numbers to
verify this claim if you can. If any of
the items were rebuilt, please describe the work and list any documentation
stating so. Does the engine burn oil,
smoke, or leak? Does the tranny slip,
jerk, or leak? What gear ratios is the
rear end? Describe any flaws or
problems.

parts? Is there anything leaking with
the system? List any new ore replaced
part. Describe any problems with the
braking system.

and rea? Does the vehicle need any
